Cork City Council Have Moved To Defend The New Traffic Restrictions On St Patrick Street
It's after some traders on the street said the move could have a negative impact on business.
Traffic restrictions will come into effect next Tuesday between 3pm and 6:30pm daily and will see private cars banned from using the street.
However buses, taxis, cyclists and emergency vehicles will be permitted to use the street during the restriction times.
Speaking to RedFM News, Senior Engineer at City Hall, Edith Roberts says pedestrians are the lifeblood of the city centre.
