Cork City Council Confident Reintroduction Of Bus Corridor On Patrick St will Be Successful

From Thursday no private cars will be able to access the city's main street between 3pm and 6.30pm
Cork City Council say they're confident the reintroduction of the bus corridor on Patrick St will be a success this time around.
From Thursday no private cars will be able to access the city's main street between 3pm and 6.30pm.
The initiative which is part of the City Centre Movement Strategy was first introduced in March but was suspended following outrage from traders who claimed their business and footfall had been severely impacted.
However the local authority has introduced a new range of measures to accompany the reintroduction of the strategy including reduced bus fares, parking incentives, and new city centre stops for the Black Ash park&ride facility.
Speaking to RedFM News Director of Services at Cork City Council Gerry O'Byrne says he doesn't believe that the same issues will arise this time:
