Cork City Council says it's continuing work to provide more student accommodation

It comes as concerns have been raised that the number of student beds available in the city, falls short of the number needed annually
The Deputy Chief Executive of Cork City Council says the lack of student accommodation Leeside remains an issue but they are working on it.
At the beginning of every academic year there is a scramble to secure suitable accommodation as 10,000 students begin attending UCC and CIT.
Earlier this year, An Bord Pleanala gave the green light for the construction of a 205 bed student development near UCC.
Speaking to RedFM News Deputy Chief Executive of Cork City Council Pat Ledwidge says as these new apartments come on stream, more housing will become available across the city.
