Cork City is moving towards economic recovery

It's hoped that the city centre is moving towards economic recovery with a number of redevelopment projects in the pipeline. Merchants Quay shopping centre is set for a revamp which it's believed will attract more businesses, while the former Capitol Cinema on the Grand Parade has gone on the market for €6 million. A number of other retailers are also planning to move to vacant premises in the city such as the former Quills store on Patrick Street. Calls are being made however for more to be done to accomodate traders in the city centre such as a reform of rates and incentivised parking schemes.
