Cork City Marathon raises thousands for charity

The Cork City Marathon has raised vital funds for charities across the city and county. Over 9,000 participants took part in the 26 mile marathon including team entries from various companies, organisations and clubs. Here at RedFM our own Stevie G and Dave O'Regan ran in the marathon in memory of the founder of RedFM Henry Condon who lost his battle to cancer last September. They joined his wife Becky along with friends and family in raising over 11,000 euro for Marymount Hospice and Cork Arc Cancer Support House. A Cork firefighter also raised funds for charity along with smashing a world record for running the full stint in his firefighting gear Speaking to RedFM News Alex O'Shea says the support he received from the crowd was overwhelming: Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
