Cork City retains Purple Flag Award
The international award celebrates excellence in night time economy and has to be renewed every two years.
Independent assessors visited Cork during the summer and made particular mention of the public bike scheme, and the vibrant "Victorian Quarter".
To celebrate Cork City Hall will be illuminated purple next weekend.
Speaking to RedFM News City Centre Coordinator Paul McGuirk says the award is a credit to everyone involved in the running of the city:
