Cork Composer Nominated for Tony Award
A Cork composer has been nominated for a Tony Award in New York. Dr Mel Mercier is head of School of Music and Theatre at UCC. He's up for Best Sound Design of a Play for The Testament of Mary - which is currently running on Broadway. The play is written by Irish author Colm Toibin and UCC graduate Fiona Shaw plays the lead role in the one woman show. The Tony Awards celebrate excellence in live Broadway theatre.
