Cork County Councillor Criticises Colleagues For Not Supporting Motion For Government To Apologise To The People Of Ireland
A Cork County Councillor has hit out at his Council colleagues for not supporting a motion calling on the government to apologise to the people of Ireland.
Cllr Diarmaid Ó Cadhla was speaking after his motion to request a public apology from the Taoiseach, the Health Minister and the Housing Minister for what he claims is their failure to tackle hospital waiting lists and the housing crisis received no support from the council.
The motion described the health service as an 'utter disaster' and also noted the recent record homeless figures from the Department of Housing.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cllr Diarmaid Ó Cadhla says acknowledging problems in the health service and housing sector is not good enough:
