Cork Doctor Calls For More Education On Steroid Use

Urgent calls are being made for more education in schools about the dangers of taking steroids.
A Cork doctor has spoken out about the risks people face when taking steroids and illegal drugs to assist muscle growth and fat loss.
Blackpool based Dr John Sheehan says he has seen an increase in the number of people presenting at his surgery who have taken steroids and he believes that an information programme needs to be rolled out around this issue so people understand what they are putting into their bodies.
Dr Sheehan says steroids are a big temptation because of the muscle gains in a short time but he says the side effects can be severe such as liver and kidney problems, acne and hair loss.
