Cork embraces Cash free zone project

The Cork Cashes Out project, designed to make Cork city a cash-free zone has been deemed a resounding success by those behind it.
The number of contactless payements in the last threee month Leeside has increased by a whopping 522%.
Thats according to recently released figures showing that although contactless payments across the country also rose, Cork was well ahead of the curve when it came to paying without cash,
Cork Cashes Out was led by the Cork City Centre Forum, theCork Chamber of Commerce, Cork Business Association, Cork City Council, An Garda Síochána as well as a host of key local business people.
Speaking to RedFM News Cork Cashes Out spokesperson Paul Montgomery says it proves that people want to use electronic options:
