Organisers of the Cork Film Festival are encouraging people to leave their digital devices at home and immerse themselves in the subjects explored on the big screen.
This year is the 61st year of the Festival, and it's the oldest of it's kind in the country.
Organisers have put together a varied programme of movies, shorts and documentaries, with the focus very much on home grown talent.
The Festival has taken full advantage of the success of the Irish Film Industry over the past few years, by showcasing new emerging Irish talent.
Speaking to RedFM news Festival Director James Mulligan says he hopes people will use the festival as a starting point for conversations.
