Cork Gardai angry over lack of pay increase

Rank and file gardai across Cork remain very angry due to the lack of a pay increase following an intense round of talks at the Labour Court last resulted in the aversion of today's threatened Garda strike.
Today's day of action has been withdrawn while the GRA and the AGSI bring the new terms for annual leave and rent allowance to their members so they can ballot on the recommendations.
It's expected that the low starting wage for Gardai may pose problems for that ballot which is expected to be turned around in 10 days.
If Gardaí reject the new agreement we could still see the withdrawal of labour on three days later this month.
Michael Corcoran of Angelsea Street Garda Station and Cork City GRA representative told the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM that there is still a lot of anger among the 600 city based Gardai:
