Cork GP Says Some Time Is Needed Before Confidence Is Restored In Cervical Check
A Cork GP says he believes it will take some time before confidence will be restored in CervicalCheck
Blackpool based Dr John Sheehan has revealed that nurses in his practice have been working extra hours in the last week to accommodate the rise in the number of women seeking smear tests.
He says his practice has seen a doubling of women seeking smear tests in the wake of the Cervical cancer scandal.
Speaking to RedFM News Dr Sheehan says despite the fact that women's confidence in the reliability of the smear test has been shaken it's comforting to see them contacting their GP's to book examinations.
