Cork Heritage Week gets underway

Counties nationwide are taking part in the festival.
Cork Heritage Week kicks off today with a number of historical and cultural events taking place throughout the city and county.
The launch of the week saw 40 old buildings open its door to the public including Elizabeth Fort.
A wide range of walking tours, exhibitions, talks and workshops are on offer throughout the week for people of all ages.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork City Council's Heritage Officer Niamh Twomey says the festival encourages Cork people to reflect on their own heritage.
