Cork hosts The Red Bull Soapbox Race today

Hundreds of entries from across Ireland and the UK to take part
Thousands of people have gathered in the city to watch The Red Bull Soapbox Race which is running from 12 to 4pm on Patrick’s Hill
Large screens have been erected at a number of vantage points on Patrick's Quay, Camden Quay, MacCurtain Street and Coburg Street
Organisers say they received hundreds of entries from across Ireland and the UK to take part in one of steepest soapbox races in years down Patrick's Hill
25 of the teams taking park are from Cork including RedFM's Philip Bourke who will be driving the RedFM Rebel Rocket, which was designed and built by members of CIT's Department of Mechanical Engineering.
