Cork jobs boost with €150m biopharmaceutical campus
A €150 million investment has been announced for a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing campus in Ringaskiddy.
A €150 million investment has been announced for a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing campus in Ringaskiddy.
The investment by GE Healthcare is expected to create up to 1,300 direct and indirect jobs jobs.
The construction phase, subject to planning approval, is expected to begin by mid- 2017 and create up to 800 construction jobs.
When fully operational GE BioPark Cork will be home to more than 500 new jobs - 400 with biopharma companies and a further 100 employed directly by GE Healthcare.
The company is also in the process of setting up a training collaboration with National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training to develop skills for Ireland's biologics sector, training 1,500 professionals per year.
