Cork journalist to receive Lord Mayor's Civic Award
Evening Echo Journalist Deirdre O'Reilly is among six recipients of a Lord Mayor's Civic Award... The awards recognise those whose tireless work have improved the quality of life in the city.. 43 year old Deirdre, who's a mother of two young daughters, has been left with paralysis of her right side, and with speech difficulties after she suffered a massive stroke before Christmas... . She has been included in the list of award recipients announced by the Lord Mayor Catherine Clancy for her news reports highlighting the work of various Cork charities and community groups - she also helped to raised over 1 million euro for charities across the city and county..
