Cork Mail Centre Action Group Vows To Continue Fighting Closure Of Little Island Mail Centre 

The group insists that the centre is still viable as An Post's parcel business continues to grow

The Cork Mail Centre Action Group have vowed to continue fighting the closure of the Little Island Mail Centre 

The group which represents up to 120 staff members insists that the centre is still viable / as An Post's parcel business continues to grow 

Last month An Post revealed plans to close the Little Island facility next march with the loss of over 200 jobs
 
The Labour Court has recommended enhanced severance packages to those affected and the Communications Workers Union has described the enhanced terms as "most favourable" 

The action group has tabled a motion for the union's general meeting at the Metropole Hotel tomorrow seeking support for their campaign opposing the closure of the facility 

John Ahern of the Cork Mail Centre Action Group told RedFM News that they want the union to fight the closure
