Cork man dubbed Ireland's oldest skater

80 year old Michael Finnegan got his first pair of ice skates 10 years ago when Cork's first seasonal ice-rink arrived

A Cork man who has been dubbed Ireland's oldest ice skater says it's never too late to try something new.

Michael Finnegan got his first pair of skates ten years ago at the age of 70 when Cork's first seasonal ice-rink arrived. 

He's now on his second pair of skates and visits the ice rink at least once a day.

A video of the 80-year-old has was posted by Cork on ice have been viewed nearly 10,000 times and speaking to RedFM News Michael has this advice for anyone wanting to try something new.
