Cork Man finds it difficult to secure accommodation with rent allowance
A young Cork man who had been living on the streets but has since managed to turn his life around says he is finding it impossible to secure rental accommodation.
23 year old James Brady says the landlords he has been in contact with have been consistently refusing to accept rent allowance from him.
His story comes as Cork Simon is using this week to highlight how the rental crisis in Cork is fueling the city's homeless crisis.
James was homeless for nearly three months but since then has managed to kick his drugs and alcohol addiction and secured a place on a course but he says he is becoming very frustrated by the lack of movement in securing accommodation.
Speaking to RedFM News James says he is desperate to find a home of his own:
