Cork men honoured for their bravery

Three Cork men will be presented with National Bravery Awards today. Cillian Mahon and Ryane Twomey were celebrating their Leaving Cert results in 2011 when they came to the rescue of two men inside a burning apartment block in Fermoy. The teenagers kicked open the main entrance door to the complex and dragged two people to safety. Meanwhile, John O'Flynn is being honoured for his part in a river rescue in 2011 in which he entered the River Lee at the Christy Ring Bridge and pulled a man out of the water. The awards ceremony is taking place at Farmleigh House in Dublin later.
