Cork Model Suffers Serious Injuries At Longitude Music Festival
A garda investigation has been launched after a Cork woman was struck by a glass bottle at Longitude music festival over the weekend leaving her with serious facial injuries.
The Irish Examiner reports that Former Miss Cork Katie O’Donoghue was 100m from the stage when she was struck on the head by a flying bottle.
Melvin Benn, managing director of Festival Republic issued a statement saying, “We are aware of a woman who sustained an injury to her scalp late Friday night and, following treatment by our on- site medical team, the woman returned to the festival the next day, Saturday.
“The circumstances surrounding the alleged incident is currently the subject of a Garda investigation and therefore we cannot comment further as to do so, could impede such an investigation.
“Security measures on all aspects of the festival are carried out in consultation with An Garda Síochána based on intelligence, risk and safety assessments.”
