Cork mother mounts march Leeside calling for medicinal cannabis

Vera Twomey is campaigning for a change in legislation surrounding medicinal cannabis for her daughter for Ava whose rare form of epilepsy is eased by the medication
A Cork mother is to march through the city this afternoon on behalf for her daughter, says she has been receiving strong support in her campaign for the legalisation of medicinal cannabis.
Vera Twomey's seven year old Ava suffers from a rare form of epilepsy and has multiple seizures each day.
Vera has spoken directly to the Health Minister on several occasions and marched on the Dail after her application for medicinal cannabis was rejected on the grounds that a paediatric neurologist hadn't signed off on it.
Vera is now urging people to join her on her march today which leaves the Grand Parade at 2pm.
Speaking to RedFM News Vera says the public have been very kind to her and her family.
