Cork Mum Accuses The Government Of Failing Her and Her Daughter

Vera Twomey was reacting to the news that the bill to legalise medicinal cannabis has been abandoned


"A travesty...." 

That's the reaction of Cork mother Vera Twomey to the news that a bill to legalise cannabis for medicinal use has been abandoned.

Vera Twomey's Daughter Ava suffers from a rare form of epilepsy and the family are currently in the Hague where the 7 year old is receiving cannabis oil for treatment for her condition.

The bill from Gino Kenny passed the Dail last December - but has been stalled at the Oireachtas health committee ever since.

The committee has now been told that there are too many legal difficulties with the bill, and that it requires too many amendments.

Speaking to RedFM News from Holland Vera Twomey says people across Ireland are being left suffer due to the Governments lack of action:
