Cork music teacher goes viral with piano cover versions

A Cork music teacher says her phone hasn't stopped ringing since Dutch DJ Tiesto publicised one of her videos.
Rachael O'Donovan from Glandore began posting piano versions of songs to social media at the end of last month, covering artists like Lana Del Rey, The Cranberries and Bruce Springsteen
Artists like Mark McCabe, Gerry Cinnamon, the RTE Concert Orchestra and Jenny Greene as well as a number of sports stars have also interacted with the 28 year old on social media to praise her videos.
But it was the secondary school teacher's rendition of Tiesto's cover of Adagio for Strings on day 15 of the 30 day challenge that really gathered the most attention.
Speaking to RedFM News, Rachael says she was amazed to get a private message from Tiesto.
"He said he'd keep me in mind for the future - that was amazing to hear!
"Obviously like nothing will probably come of that, but just to get a message from him I was delighted.
"Something like this to do is great - it's kept me so busy.
"Every day I have to research, pick a song, then I have to learn it, record it, upload it, so I've been so busy doing this - I don't know what I'll do when the 30 day challenge is over!"
