Cork Penny Dinners Nightime Opening In An Effort To Help Prevent More Street Deaths

The move comes after two of their regular service users died on the streets of the city last year

The food charity say two of their regular visitors died on the streets of the city last year, prompting them to open their doors to homeless people at night.

The kitchen which serves around 2,000 hot meals a week has been acting as a make-shift dorm room with mattresses on the floor for the past 7 weeks.

Speaking to RedFM News at Cork Penny Dinners centre in the city, Catriona Twomey says the added work is worth the effort
