Cork physio saves local footballer's life

The quick thinking of a Bishopstown physiotherapist saved the life of a local footballer. Ciaran O'Shaughnessy who works as a physio in Cork University Hospital sprung into action on Tuesday evening when a Nemo Rangers footballer collapsed after a match. 18-year-old Daniel James collapsed in the dressing room after the Under 21's game between Nemo Rangers and Bishopstown in Ballinlough. Ciarán immediately responded to the incident by using his first aid training and the club's defibrillator. Daniel was successfully revived and is expected to make a full recovery. Speaking to RedFM News, Ciarán says if it wasn't for the defibrillator, the outcome may not have been so successful. Click the PLAY button to hear.
