Cork Popular Film Location
Film crews are scouting Cork for locations to shoot their movies. An international crew is currently looking for a department store that might double for Macy's in 1950's New York. Many older parts of the city such as the Hibernian Buildings, Barrack Street and Shandon Street along with the Docklands are all proving to be popular locations for film crews. Cork screen commisioner Niall Mahony, who assists crews filming in the city and county, says he has seen a significant increase in requests for information about Cork locations.
