Cork school forced to cut admissions

The school in Ballincollig have been denied a 25th class teacher.
Parents in Ballincollig are up in arms as the town's biggest primary school has been forced to reduce admissions from September.
The principal at Gaelscoil Ui Ríordáin has informed parents with children on waiting lists for the school that it's unlikely that they will be accepting new entrants for the next school term unless they have a sibling in the school.
He says the school was originally built as a 24 classroom school and despite an application to the Department they have been denied a 25th class teacher.
The demand for places in the school demonstrates that there is an appetite for a Gael Scoil in the area and Gabriel O' Cathasaigh told RedFM News that he hopes the new school being built in the town will be able to meet that need.
