Cork Sexual Violence Centre welcome new bill

The Criminal Law Sexual Offences Bill has been published by Frances Fitzgerald.

A new bill could see the introduction of two new offences criminalising paying for sexual activity with a sex worker.

Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald published 'The Criminal Law Sexual Offences Bill' this week which would see a person paying for a sexual service committing an offence but not the person providing it.

The proposed legislation also looks at the areas of harassment, child exploitation and the age of consent.

Speaking to RedFM News, Mary Crilly from the Sexual Violence Centre in Cork says they welcome the new bill but it has some shortcomings.
