Cork Taxi Council Say The Fare Increase Failed To Match Rising Costs  

35 drivers in Cork have left the industry in the last year because of rising insurance costs and regulation.


The Cork Taxi Council say although fares have increased they're still struggling to keep their heads above water. 

It's emerged that up to 35 drivers in Cork have left the industry in the last year because of rising insurance costs and regulation.

Drivers say even if the fares increase, they're still hit in the pocket as they have to get their meters calibrated. 

Speaking to RedFM News Bobby Lynch of the Council says fare increases won't help them and it's time for the  National Transport Authority to step in:
