Spotlight Back On Proposed Cork Events Centre
€1 million in funding has been made available to the Events Centre but there is still no sign of a start date
The Irish Examiner reports that the payment emerged when Fianna Fail's Finance Spokesman Michael McGrath tabled a question in the Dáil seeking an update on funding for the long delayed events centre.
The Cork South Central TD is now seeking an explanation over why the money was paid to the council by the state.
Cork City Council have requested an additional €10 million for the development on top of the €20 million already approved by the state.
It's been over two years since Former Taoiseach Enda Kenny turned the sod on the project.
