Cork TD welcomes formation of Planning Group to address suicides Leeside

A Cork Sinn Fein TD has welcomed the news that a Critical Incidence Response Planning Group is to be formed to address the spike in Cork suicides

Eight people have died by suicide on the southside of Cork city in the past three weeks and recent figures show that Cork has the highest suicide rate in the country. 

Sinn Fein's Pat Buckley says the Planning Group made up of Cork City Council, Gardai, the HSE and local leaders urgently needs to have funding allocated to it in order to properly tackle the rising number of suicides across the city.
