Cork traders urged to support local businesses

City centre traders are voicing their concerns over the number of chain brands coming to Cork and are urging people to support local businesses. Plans are underway to open a Nando's on Academy Street while Starbucks is to open an outlet on Princes Street. Low-price pub chain Wetherspoons is also coming to Paul Street. A Facebook post from Sober Lane has urged people to support local businesses which have "struggled along, pulled together and survived".
