Cork woman to sue the state against introduction of Irish Water

A Passage West woman with Crohn's disease is to proceed with her action to sue the state over the introduction of water charges. Elizabeth Hourihane of Maulbaun in Passage believes it's only a matter of time before water services are privatised which she claims is against the public interest.. On a personal level she's worried her health may be put at risk and needs to keep hydrated and she fears the burden of a extra utility bill.. Yesterday Elizabeth sought a judicial review challenging the constitutionality of the legislation that established Irish Water but she's now looking at issuing plenary proceedings suing the state for damages..
