Cork/Dublin air route blamed for drop in traffic at Cork airport

Passenger numbers at Cork Airport are down 40% since the new terminal opened. Management at the Airport say half of that loss is due to the axing of the Cork-Dublin airlink which led to a drop of half a million passengers. The decision by Aer Arann and Ryanair to drop the link followed the completion of the Cork/Dublin road link and the introduction of hourly rail services to Dublin from Cork. AUDIO: Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Kevin Cullinane Marketing Manager at Cork Airport says they are making efforts with other airlines to restore connectivity between the two cities.
