Corks role in 1916 showcased on Easter Monday

Cork's role in the 1916 Rising will be brought into the spotlight tomorrow as the first state ceremony is set to take place Leeside.
The Grande Parade will host a wreath laying ceremony which will be one of nine synchronised ceremonies taking place nationwide.
The raising of the national flag accompanied with a reading of the Proclamation will also feature on the day.
300 events are taking place across the city and county throughout the year and will cost in excess of three quarters of a million euro.
