Council approve Cork Film Festival loan

The matter was discussed at a meeting of Cork City Council this evening.
It's being reported that Cork City Council have voted to give Cork Film Festival a €200,000 loan.
It's understood it will be an 8-year interest free loan for the event.
Cork City Councilors discussed the issue and the future of the festival at City Hall this evening.
18 votes were in favour of the bailout and 8 against.
Earlier, the former head of the festival expressed concerns about the loan saying serious questions need to be asked about the managament of the festival after it posted losses over the last three years.
Speaking to RedFM News Mick Hannigan says he believes the Film Festival should continue but he has some concerns:
