Counting Of Votes In The Local Elections Is Underway In City Hall
Sinn Féin's Thomas Gould says he's disappointed for some of his party colleagues who will struggle tonight
Counting of votes in the local elections is underway in City Hall.
Initial tallies indicate that the poll toppers in the South ward are Independent candidate Mick Finn, and Fine Gael's Des Cahill and Derry Canty.
In the North ward poll toppers include Fianna Fáil's Tony Fitzgerald and Kenneth O'Flynn, and Sinn Féin's Thomas Gould and Kenneth Collins.
However for some candidates there's a long night ahead as many are neck and neck. Sinn Féin's Chris O'Leary is in for a fight to retain his seat as Fine Gael's Deirdre Forde is on course to retain the final seat in the South East Ward.
Speaking to RedFM News Sinn Féin's Thomas Gould says while he's happy with the votes he has received he's disappointed for some of his party colleagues who will struggle tonight:
