County manager under fire over inadequate gritting at the County Bounds

Cork's County Manager is being urged to "up his game" after motorists were forced to abandon their cars at the county bounds yesterday morning as the roads weren't properly gritted... Kerry County Councillor Danny Healy Rae has raised the issue at Council level in the past and says he will put forward a motion again next month urging council management to contact Cork County Council to rectify the matter.. Councillor Healy Rae says Cork is not doing its job after motorists were forced to abandon their journeys this morning due to treachorous roads conditions However Cork County Council has rejected the claims and says the road was gritted at 10 o'clock on Monday night, and again at 5 o’clock and 10 o'clock yesterday morning Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Cllr Healy Rae says it's vital that the road is properly gritted so that the primary route remains open Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
