Coveney admits he's unhappy with how Fine Gael polled

Fine Gael's Simon Coveney is tipped to take the third seat in his constituency.

The results of the second count in South Central are expected to be announced in the next hour.

Fine Gael's Simon Coveney is tipped to take the third seat in the constituency after on the second count after failing to reach the quota on 7965 first preference votes.

Poll topper Michael McGrath and his party colleague Mícheál Martin took the first two seats.

It'll be a tense battle for the final seat which is expected go down to the wire between Fine Gael's Jerry Buttimer and Sinn Féin's Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire.
