Coveney hopes to put Cork - Limerick motorway project back on the table

There's fresh hope that the motorway between Cork and Limerick will be constructed after Simon Coveney expressed his confidence that it would be included in a review of the Capital Investment Plan.

The project was shelved by the previous Minister for Transport Paschal Donohue who cited cost as the main reason for the delay in progressing the motorway.

However Cork's Simon Coveney says that the link between Ireland's second and third citites needs to be examined and plans for a motorway put back on the table.

Locals have long been calling for the road to be improved as it's current state has been described as unacceptable and detrimental to commuters, busineses and the wider local economy.
