Coveney Says Rise In Burglaries Needs To Be Tackled With More Gardaí

The rise in burglaries in Cork has to be tackled with additional Gardaí on the streets, according to the Tánaiste.
Simon Coveney made the comments following a briefing on the issue at Anglesea Street Garda Station.
The briefing comes as figures reveal that the numbers of Gardai in Cork have dropped considerably in the last few years...
16,000 people in Carrigaline are served by just 19 Gardaí, while Douglas has 2 less Gardaí now - than it had in 2009.
Speaking to RedFM News, Tánaiste Simon Coveney says Cork needs to be prioritised.
