CUH could become leading cancer hospital in country according to Tanaiste

Simon Coveney unveiled plans for the €40 million centre yesterday.
The Tanaiste, the Taoiseach and Government officilas were in UCC yesterday rolling out Project Ireland 2040 which includes signifcant investment in major road networks, health, education, arts and events funding for Cork.
The centre is expected to improve access to radiotherapy for patients while reducing waiting times.
The expansion at CUH is part of the National Plan for Radiation Oncology and will create 17 new positions once completed in January next year.
Meanwhile plans are also in the pipeline for two new hospitals.
Speaking to RedFM News, Tánaiste Simon Coveney says Cork will transform over the coming years once a detailed regional plan is made for the projects.
