Dail Vote To Oppose The Closure of An Post's Little Island Mail Centre This Lunchtime

The moves means that up to 240 people will lose their jobs
Up to 79 full time and 161 part time employees are set to lose their jobs as the semi state company seeks savings of €11 million at its Cork base.
A motion was debated at the Dail yesterday that called on the government to tell An Post to reverse the closure and begin negotiations to try and save the 240 jobs
Communications Minister Richard Bruton told the Dáil that the government could not intervene in the commercial management of the company.
