Date Set For Decision On Ringaskiddy Incinerator
An Bord Pleanala has set a date for a decision on the proposed Ringaskiddy incinerator.
A verdict on the controversial planning application has been delayed three times already however the planning body is to issue its decision on August 10th.
This week Cork Harbour for A Safe Environment called on An Bord Pleanala not to accept the new figures and information supplied by Indaver at face value.
The group say consultants for the waste management company have understated - by a significant amount - the plume risk from the proposed Ringaskiddy incinerator to helicopters.
They also claim Indaver have skewed estimated dioxin levels from the plant.
However speaking to RedFM News Managing Director of Indaver Ireland John Ahern says Ireland needs to start managing its own waste and the intention of his company is to solve problems, not create them:
