Debenhams has revealed it's Irish outlets are not under threat from closure

It comes as the company announced earlier this week it's considering closing up to ten of it's department stores in the UK.

The company has noted however that it's Irish stores will still be down this year following losses of €7 million last year.

The Sunday Buisness Post reports the company has set out a rescue plan for it's Irish chains which include the reduction in payments of rent to landlords and a write off of more than €40 million in loans.

Debenhams has two stores in Cork one in Mahon Point and the other on Patrick Street.
