Debenhams To Close Up To Ten Stores

Debenhams is considering closing up to ten of its department stores.

It's not known yet if the closures will affect Irish branches or exclusively the UK.

It's also consulting on the closure of one of its distribution centres and ten regional warehouses.

The impact on jobs isn't known yet.

The company set out the plans alongside half-year results showing a 6-point-4 per cent fall in pre-tax profits.

Debenhams has two stores in Cork - in Mahon Point and Patrick Street
