Decision To Be Made Shortly On Appeal Of Extradition of Ian Bailey To France

Minister for Justice says a decision will be made shortly on whether to continue seeking the extradition of Ian Bailey to France.

It follows yesterday's ruling from the High Court that it would be an "abuse of process" to allow Mr Bailey be extradited to face charges over the death of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.

Bailey is due to discover tomorrow if he will be permitted to appeal a separate civil case against the State over what he argues is his wrongful arrest. 

This evening Charlie Flanagan said a decision from the State, on whether to pursue yesterday's High Court ruling any further, will be made soon:
