Delay to Events Centre will impact on Business Tourism

It's feared delays in building the highly anticipated Events Centre will impact on business tourism Leeside.
It comes after it emerged today at a Cork Convention Bureau briefing in the city that 20 conferences have been secured Leeside already this year worth an estimated €12 million to the local economy.
Concern has been expressed about the future of the Events Centre after city councillors were told by BAM contractors that an extra €12 million in public funding would be needed to complete the 6,000 seat venue.
Speaking to RedFM News Seamus Heaney of Cork Convention Bureau says they would be able to bid for larger conferences if there was a space available:
